Interview with Ava/Paige/Grace Hatter Panda/ Henry
Q: Now how did you two find your way to Storybrooke?
A: Well RP times that allow younger age characters are very hard to find these days.... So I was simply exploring everything looking for a place to play when I stumbled across Storybrooke, and very quickly learned that they weren't opposed to kid rps and were actually really excited to add some more to the group
P: I met Emma and Killian in a store completely accidentally. But I had seen the show, it is one of my favorites and I kind of turned into a nerd on sight. That was back when they were still putting the sim together. So I guess you could say it was an accidental encounter that worked out in the best possible way.
Q: Would you like to tell me a little about your characters?
P: My name is Henry Mills I'm the son of Regina Mills and Emma Swan, My grandparents are snow white and prince charming. I enjoy researching and understanding people's stories. I guess I could be described as kind of sneaky because I like to do some of the hands on things although i'm discouraged because of being younger. I enjoy hot chocolate with cinnamon and spending time with my family. We have been through alot and being a family is what makes us who we are.
A: So I play Paige aka "Grace", who is the daughter of the Mad Hatter. In the show itself both Paige and the Hatter weren't featured very long sadly, -but- that's one of the amazing things about Lost and Found - Storybrooke is that people are able to develop characters like mine who didn't get a chance to develop in the show.... make realistic changes to plots who want to re imagine with more "lead" characters, and bring in characters who have not been featured at all or completely create someone of your own! (as long as it fits of course)
Q: And that leads into my next question! How do you make your characters your own?
A: Well for me because Paige was so underdeveloped, I really get a lot of creative freedom than others. For example, Paige's father is away in Neverland Currently fighting a war, so Paige being alone in Storybrooke is now living with Snow and Charming.
P: Sometimes it's more difficult the more your character is developed in the show because it gives you less space to make things your own. However we try to become one with our character. Think like them, here at storybrooke we like you to be as much of yourself as you can so we can choose the best character to match you and it helps with your development. I struggle sometimes but i'm a lot like Henry. I have a deep interest in fairy tales and origins.
A: Yeah that's really true... playing a character that you emulate with makes it a lot easier to feel less like you're 'forcing' yourself into something your not
Q: How are children treated in the Roleplay environment here? I noticed most I've seen involved the adults exclusively.
A: Honestly I don't feel very limited, not sure about Henry but I feel like I'm allowed to wiggle my way into any public RP I want to join as long as it makes since for my character.
P: Actually I was also surprised at how child friendly the environment was, sometimes people don't know how to react to children and it makes them awkward with 'what can i not say?' But this being more of a fairy tale related sim there's no limits for us or our characters and everyone is very friendly.
Q: So there is no "Kid gloves" if a child avi wanders into the story? It resumes as normal?
A: yes definitely. Also especially for Henry, he is so well integrated into the story it would almost be silly to be weird about it... lol. And Paige in her own frustration has a potty mouth so I make it known that things like censoring is rather silly.
Pi: No. There's nothing like that here. The most i've run into was when Regina was toeing the line of good and evil. But that was all parts of the plot because she didn't want her son knowing that part of her. But going from adult conversations? No, that isn't a problem here.
Q: Final question. And it's the most important. How much do you enjoy the environment and the Roleplay aspects here at Storybrooke. and what would you like the see in the future?
A: I love it and I feel very fortunate to be part of the admin team working to make the sim better. Soon I will have the website fully up to date, and this will help with getting more of the cast and players involved in roleplay. Really my main hope is that we continue to grow our player base and continue to enjoy creating some of these amazing stories.
P: I love Storybrooke, I keep saying it, but fairy tales are underrated. And being in your own fairy tale with people who love them just as much as you do is a great opportunity. Role playing with Paige, and Emma is great because their stories are some of my favorite. You can customize your home, you can meet other people and you're free to be yourself. In the future I look forward to having a larger cast full of people who have the same feelings as I do and I genuinely look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone no matter who they choose to be in and out of character.
With that last comment, I strongly feel that Storybrooke is a fun and fascinating place, even for children avis that wish to be a part.. and not just tiptoed around. As always, You can check out the sim HERE
